Tusker Project Fame, East Africa’s first ever locally produced reality show, finally came to an end with a Ugandan contestant, Davis Hillary Ntare emerging the overall winner. Paleki, the only contestant from Southern Sudan who was remaining in the Academy, did not make it to the final four. She had been on probation with Steve from Kenya, Msechu of Tanzania and Gaelle from Rwanda. Steve won the public vote while Msechu was saved by the Faculty. Gaelle and Paleki were left on stage for a few tense moments before it was revealed that Paleki had failed to garner enough votes from Eastern Africa to stay within the Academy. Gaelle proved the judges wrong and amassed quite a following of fans since she joined Tusker Project Fame. Amileena from Kenya was in fourth position followed by Steven also from Kenya. Msechu from Tanzania was in the second position. This is the second time Uganda is winning the Tusker Project Fame prize. Esther Nabaasa won TPF2, while TPF3 was won by Alpha from Rwanda. Davis beat 14 contestants who made it to the Academy to emerge the winner of Tusker Project Fame 4. Meanwhile, Davis was teary moments after winning, Sheila kept on calling him to give his last word but he could not hold the tears of joy. As the winner, Davis walked away with 5M Kenyan shillings in prize money and a one year recording contract with Gallo records, among others. Paleki who was proud to represent her country was proud to have come that far in the Academy. It was an achievement of sorts for a country that was participating for the first time. The other Sudanese contestant, K-Denk, who was evicted from the Academy earlier, told NSC that he did not regret having left the Academy earlier because he had learnt a lot and “whereas the winner went with the money, I believe I went with the fame”. He says that as a result of the fame he got through the TPF 4, he has gotten an opportunity to travel to different parts of East Africa from the time he left the Academy, and to share the stage with reknowned musicians like 2Face and Baby Cool, besides working with the producer, R-Kay from Kenya. In the meantime, K-Denk says that he wants to ride on the fame he has acquired from his appearance in the TPF 4.
